Recently Jamaica endured Hurricane Melissa with winds up to 185 mph and gusts to 252 mph. Melissa was just one mph less than the most destructive hurricane to befall this island nation in over 200 years! Many homes were destroyed or damaged.
12 years before this awful event, John Marcocchio of SunSourceTech contacted us for a SunSlates solar roof. We had heard of John’s experience with Sandals Resort and other quality projects in the Caribbean. We sent AGP’s own Ernesto Paz to train John’s workforce on SunSlates roof installation. The project was a great success, but only recently did we discover how successful. We had tested our SunSlates to 125 mph using testing in Dade County, Florida. How delighted we are to discover that our SunSlates product withstood 185 mph winds with gusts exceeding 200mph and remained strong.
Here’s to another great building integrated PV roof project in the hands of a great contractor!
